Welcome to Dark Moon Rocks
Dark Moon Rocks is a home for stories, sound, strange ideas, quiet rebellion and the things that don’t fit neatly into boxes.
I’m Kate Silveness, writer, broadcaster, creator and professional collector of rabbit holes.
This is where I bring together the work that has spread across radio, podcasts, music, essays, newsletters and social media over the years — so it has somewhere permanent to live.
You’ll find writing on folklore, mythology, spirituality, psychology, Taoism, shadow work, creativity, the natural world, life on the canal, seasonal skies and whatever else has wandered through the door and refused to leave.
You’ll also find Canal Tao — small stories about life, water and letting things flow — alongside longer essays, reflections, newsletter pieces and the beginnings of a growing archive.
Dark Moon Rocks is also an online radio station, a podcast home and a music project. Some of that lives elsewhere technically, but this site is the library that ties it all together.
Writing
Essays, stories, observations, folklore, philosophy, seasonal pieces and the general contents of my slightly overstuffed brain.
Newsletter
The Dark Moon Rocks newsletter brings together what I’ve been making, thinking about and discovering each week — radio, writing, music, sky, canal life and whatever chaos has escaped from the laboratory.
Radio
Dark Moon Rocks Radio mixes music, spoken word, odd facts, folklore, stories and conversation.

Music & Podcasts
Original songs, teaching pieces, meditations, podcasts and other audio projects all live in the Dark Moon Rocks audio archive.
A growing archive
This site is being built as a long-term home for the work.
Some pieces are new. Some will be brought in from older projects. Some will probably mutate several times before I decide what they actually are.
That’s fine.
Dark Moon Rocks has never really been about fitting into one category.
It’s about following the thread and seeing where it leads.
Writing, radio, music and things found in the dark.
